Best in Class Tutoring can support your child to achieve their potential! This service will provide high quality support for pupils aged 5 to 11 years (from Year 1 to Year 6) who require extra support in the following areas:
- Developing skills in reading; looking at fluency of reading, re-reading for understanding, decoding of words, segmenting and blending, using expression amd intonation whilst reading. Also, this is a good opportunity to learn how to use comprehension skills.
- Developing skills in writing; improving children's grammar, punctuation and spelling in their writing, writing for a purpose and audience, and word and sentence level work.
- Developing skills in Mathematics; exploring the four number operations, timestables practise for the Year 4 multiplication checks that take place in June of each year, fluency and mental methods, reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Improving confidence, progress and attainment across ALL abilities.
- Supporting with SATs preparation.
- Preparing for 11+ exams.
- Home-schooling help.
- Helping pupils reach age-related targets.
- Developing the skills of pupils who are classed as gifted and talented and wanting to reach greater depth.
- Catch up with phonics and spelling using government approved schemes.
- Improving handwriting with letter and number formation using Kinetic Letters.
All sessions will be recorded for safeguarding purposes. Parents are more than welcome to attend sessions if they wish. A consent form will need to be filled in before the sessions begin. Forms will be available in the session room on arrival.
Risk assessments will be carried out to the different requirements of the sessions, for example: medical needs, allergies, safety of premises, fire doors etc. Also, I am first-aid trained.
